Get creative this Easter! Join regional artist Mariya Blyznyuk and explore the art of Vybiika, a Ukrainian fabric printing technique. In this traditional printing style, representations of Spring such as floral motifs, decorated eggs and birds make up the main design. Participants will be guided by Blyznyuk to create their own vibrant patterns on a canvas bag, perfect for collecting easter eggs!

Description

Mariya Blyznyuk is a Canadian-Ukrainian artist and educator who actively represents traditional Ukrainian culture in Canada. Her artistic practice includes elements of Ukrainian folk decorative art, which she thoughtfully synthesizes with contemporary Canadian creative contexts.

Mariya is an active exhibiting artist who regularly participates in local and regional exhibitions and cultural presentations. She is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), Toronto Chapter, as well as several other artistic organizations and community art groups across Ontario.

She is also the founder of an independent art studio where she leads creative programs for participants of different ages. In addition to her artistic work, Mariya actively supports the Ukrainian community through cultural initiatives, workshops, and collaborative projects.
