Invite your friends and family for a one-of-a-kind party at the MacLaren and enjoy a creative, hands-on art activity led by a professional artist. Birthday celebrations include a tour of the galleries, and a choice between three exciting art activities. Children will also make their own party-hats!
What To Know
For ages 5 – 14. We supply all the art materials for this two-hour event. Clients provide decorations, plates, cutlery, cups, napkins, cake, food and drinks. Please note: MacLaren policy does not allow lit birthday candles.

Art Parties & Team Building
Book an Art Party for your friends or colleagues!
Flex your creative muscles at the Gallery! Choose one of our engaging artist-led workshops and spend an enjoyable afternoon or evening making art with your guests. Explore the principles of design and colour, learn about landscape painting and contemporary art, and share in a guided tour of the Gallery’s current exhibitions. Art parties are a fun way to foster creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration and team building.
Choose from two different art programs:
- Light on the Land: Learn about watercolour painting techniques and materials in this fun workshop. Create an exceptional monochromatic landscape painting inspired by regional artist Lucius O’Brien.
- Vibrant Vistas: Get inspired by the artwork of regional artist Doris McCarthy to create a vibrant abstract landscape using acrylic on canvas board.
Fees:
$600 + HST for up to 20 adults, including all art materials and a take-home keepsake, for this two-hour programme. An additional fee of $30 per participant will apply for larger groups. (Capacity limits subject to public health guidelines). A 50%, non-refundable deposit is required upon booking.

Contact The Lazy Tulip Café for catering options. (The Gallery is also fully licensed.) In addition to your private studio time, book additional time for socializing, meetings or programming in the studio, the adjacent garden patio or the Gallery’s elegant main lobby with its stone fireplace and courtyard views.
