Support

Become a Volunteer

Volunteers are invaluable to the MacLaren.

If you are interested in getting involved, learning about the visual arts or gaining administrative experience, join our team of volunteers. Our volunteer programmes are open to people with or without art experience. Orientation and training are provided.

Many types of opportunities are available, from leading gallery tours to helping organize special events. For example, Greeters welcome visitors and share information about current exhibitions and events. Gallery Guides lead tours for visiting school and community groups of all ages and abilities, encouraging dialogue around our exhibitions and our rich building history. MacLaren Ambassadors attend community events, such as festivals, fairs, children’s programmes and more, with the goal of raising awareness and promoting various Gallery programmes. Student volunteers are able to gain their 40 hours of community service.

You are welcome to fill out the volunteer application form below and email to Peter Bogle, Development Associate/Volunteer Coordinator, at peter@maclarenart.com. A follow-up interview will be arranged by the staff volunteer coordinator to determine your placement.

For more information, please contact Peter Bogle at 705-720-1044 ext.277 or peter@maclarenart.com

Please Note: All volunteers are required to submit a current police record check that includes vulnerable sector screening.
