*Each participant will take home a sketchbook + an artist grade pencil!

Week 1 – 3 with Anthony:

Blind Contour drawing is training for your eyes and hands. You focus solely on the subject and not on the paper, trusting the line to explore, stumble, and ultimately reveal a unique truth. This practice emphasizes that drawing is about observation rather than perfection.

In these workshops you will learn to see the world differently. We’ll start with fun exercises that relax your wrist and quiet your inner critic, gradually progressing to longer studies that foster focus, flow, and genuine observational confidence. Mistakes are not only accepted; they are part of the learning process. Anticipate wobbly lines, laughter, surprising breakthroughs, and the satisfying realization of what drawing becomes when you let go of expectation.

Week 4 – 6 with Sheresha:

Are you ready to explore your identity as an artist and connect with your community through the power of how you make your art?

In these unique workshops, you will delve deep into self-discovery, using collage and poetry as your mediums and help you see yourself as an artist outside of using your own familiar medium. We will use trial and error as a mirror to help you discover new things about yourself.

You will be guided on how to create a personal collage and poetry project that visually represents your artistic identity and how you perceive the world around you. Find words that resonate with your visual art, allowing you to articulate your thoughts and feelings in a new way and engage in meaningful discussions that foster understanding and connection, enhancing your sense of oneness within the community.

Description

Anthony “Tony” Caruana is a Canadian concept artist, art director, and creative strategist working at the intersection of entertainment, emerging technology, and visual storytelling. With more than a decade of professional experience and a formal background in Industrial Design, he has developed worlds, characters, and experiences for AAA game studios, global production companies, and national defence initiatives. Some of his clients and collaborators include Ubisoft Toronto, Square Enix, Tactic Studios, Pureblink, Balich Worldwide Shows, and the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Tony’s practice bridges fine-art sensibility with production-level discipline. He specializes in expressive concept art, narrative-driven design, and creative leadership—guiding cross-functional teams and shaping visual language from early ideation to final delivery. His multidisciplinary background spans gaming, e-learning, cinematic development, and interactive media, reflecting a commitment to clear communication, technical craft, and imaginative vision.

In addition to commercial work, Tony is the creator of The Posse, an original trading-card game. His portfolio blends ink, digital painting, and hybrid 2D/3D workflows, with themes rooted in worldbuilding, mythology, character-driven drama, and the joyful seriousness of lifelong drawing practice.

He is currently completing an MBA while continuing to direct creative projects and mentor emerging artists. When he’s not painting, Tony can usually be found nurturing planted aquariums or obsessively refining fictional worlds—and occasionally convincing others to do the same. (@tonycarura.art)

Working predominantly with Analog Collage, artist, photographer, poet and curator Sheresha Mcintyre has been able to express her take on many themes in each of her art disciplines. Themes such as fantasy presented in colourful conceptual abstract forms. Mcintyre takes influences from plants, nature, culture and her own imagination to show how they mimic our “reality”.

In (2020) Mcintyre was Awarded the #RisingYouth Community Service grant presented to her by TakingITGloabal in Toronto. She was able to curate her own art exhibit called Loose Ends which was held at The Art Gallery of Ontario (The AGO) located in Toronto. Her exhibit featured both her artwork and the artwork of other local Toronto visual artists.

Mcintyre aims to create an experience of oneness between her art and those that observe her work. This is in the hope that her art will inspire her observers to tap into the brightest, most exciting parts of themselves.
