Featured in the Gallery Shop: Rhoni Clarke

Rhoni Clarke

Rhoni Clarke is a ceramic artist who grew up in Orillia, Ontario. After completing high school, she made her way to Harrogate, Tennessee to go to school at Lincoln Memorial University on a golf scholarship. Though originally interested in a career in Mathematics, Rhoni's plans were happily undone after she took a single course in Ceramic Arts. From there, she proceeded to graduate cum laude with a BA (Art major, Math minor) in 2011.

She pursued her passion for making with clay at Sheridan College, graduating from the Craft and Design - Ceramics program in May 2014.

She has been lucky enough to work with many distinguished potters including Timothy Smith at Gleasonbrook Pottery in Wiarton and Scott Barnim at Scott Barnim Pottery in Dundas.

In 2016, Rhoni and her fiancé Dave moved to Port Sydney where they immediately felt at home. She now works happily in her new studio and shop space, with craft shows, galleries, home improvements and baby milestones filling up her days.

“Living in Muskoka means deep breaths of fresh air and a gorgeous view out my window.  I've always found Birch trees compelling and now they've snuck their way into my mind and onto my pots.  I love birch trees in any season but at the moment the spring teal colour makes me smile and look forward to a hot cup of tea each morning.”
