The suite, which explores the veiled textures, shapes and patterns of urban building materials, accompanies Priest’s Monument to Construction Workers (1994), a distinctive public artwork in Toronto’s financial district. Born in England in 1944, Priest completed her MFA at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1976 she moved to Toronto where she currently lives and works. She is a Professor Emerita at the University of Guelph, Ontario.
