Souvenir: Social Media Project
MacLaren Art Centre

In celebration of Carnegie Days, the MacLaren Art Centre invites youth and adults to post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram a tweet, photo or original artwork that explores this year’s theme, Travelogue. Do you have a special souvenir? A family photograph? Or perhaps you’re just dreaming of a special Canadian getaway? Share your travel mementos, impressions and experiences with us.

Need inspiration? Check out The Henri Robideau Gianthropological Resource Centreand Road Trip exhibition at the MacLaren Art Centre!

All souvenir tweets should be 140 characters. Images can also be shared by tagging the MacLaren’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Submissions should be appropriate for all audiences. Selected responses will be posted on MacLaren social media pages and at the Gallery during Carnegie Days, September 29 to October 2, 2016.

I never thought I’d wish for my vacation to end in ruins… until I visited Athens #travel #vacay #myMACmemento

The Rocky Mountains and Banff National Park will always have a place in my heart #roadtrip #travelogue #myMACmemento

Teachers: This is an excellent warm-up exercise to kick start the school year. Share this with your students and bring your class to the Gallery. Tours are free and Gallery admission is by voluntary donation. Just book in advance with Education Officer Christina Mancuso at

The MacLaren Art Centre looks forward to sharing your souvenirs!
