Headway

Janice Laking Gallery
October 1, 2022 – December 30, 2022

Left: Carl Beam, Columbus Chronos, 1986, acrylic, graphite and photoemulsion on canvas. Purchased with the Canada Council Acquisitions Assistance Grant, 1997. Right: Donna Boyko, Into the Light, 2002, mixed media collage on paper. Gift of the artist, 2003.

Take part in curating our next exhibition! Headway is the final exhibition in the Anchor Point Project. After initial efforts to foster community participation were shifted due to COVID-19 limitations, Headway refocuses on the original goal of Anchor Point: to bring the permanent collection into dialogue with our community. Headway invites you behind the scenes to determine what works from the permanent collection you want to see on display, and why you like some artworks more than others. The results of this community-centred exhibition will inform the future of the collection and strengthen connections between the collection and the community.
