About the exhibitions

Grace Note: A Work in Progress

This exhibition offers an intimate view of the years-long creative and technical processes behind Grace Note, the MacLaren Art Centre’s newest permanent sculpture on view in the main lobby.

Grace Note is generously supported by

Canvas for Change: Black Youth Art Celebration

This group exhibition will feature artwork created by regional Black youth ages 13 to 18, under the guidance of Toronto-based artist and influencer, Ashante Blackwood.

In collaboration with

Will Gorlitz: No Easy Distances

This exhibition features paintings from the MacLaren’s Permanent Collection, made by senior Canadian artist Will Gorlitz between 1984 and 1987. Addressing environmental conversations that started decades ago, these works remain strikingly relevant today.

Harold Klunder: In Fluid Motion

This exhibition celebrates Harold Klunder’s evocative exploration of watercolour, featuring twenty-five works from the MacLaren Art Centre’s Permanent Collection. Each piece captures the tension between watercolour’s ephemeral diffusion and its enduring mark, inviting viewers to interpret its poetic ambiguity.
