Inspired by Canadian artist Emily Carr

Drawing inspiration from Emily Carr’s distinct painting style, students will create an artwork representing the Canadian rural landscape. Using paint and collage, they will build visual images by cutting, tearing and layering shapes. In this art activity, students develop fine motor skills and creative thinking. The focus is on visual texture and space through the use of organic and geometric shapes with ties to the Geography curriculum. A parent or guardian is recommended to assist their child(ren) where needed.
