The visual language of art is mystifying for most, prompting questions including “What am I supposed to see?” and “What does this mean?” Judy Singer will guide participants to become fluent in the visual language of art by looking at numerous examples from Titian in 16th century Venice to Jackson Pollock in 20th century New York – and many other celebrated artists in between!
To parallel this artful presentation, participants will taste four wines. The wines, chosen to complement the visual styles, are rooted in the same countries and cultures as some of the artists. Samples will be served from Italy, France, Spain, and the United States – the top four producers of wine worldwide. Josh Heuman will lead a light-hearted but systematic tasting of each wine focused on appearance, aromas, and flavours.
