About the Exhibitions
Portfolio is an annual juried exhibition of works by graduating Grade 12 students and is an opportunity to highlight the accomplishments of these aspiring artists—drawing attention to the strong visual arts programs in Simcoe County high schools.
Translations in Vision features recent works by Barrie-based multidisciplinary artist Katie Green, who explores ideas of transformation, process, and perception. Green reimagines her recent textiles through the unpredictable language of Risograph printing, where patterned fabrics and stitched borders become halftone dots and textured ink. Recurring symbols suggest movement and transformation, and the inherent imperfections of the Riso process—unexpected colours, subtle misalignments, shifts in opacity—reflect the evolving nature of vision, which changes with age, experience, distance, and light.
CommUNITY is a group exhibition that features prints created by participants in family and youth workshops at the MacLaren—visually representing each participant’s take on growth, hope and transformation. This exhibition is made possible with the collaboration and support of New Path Youth & Family Services
