TRAUMAQUEEN is a four-piece Canadian rock band with members from Toronto and Barrie, Ontario. Having met as part of an Emerging Artist Program years before, the band formed in May 2025 when four friends combined their raw talent and power with a decision to become unstoppable. Their unique blend of soaring vocals and killer guitar riffs find the perfect balance of paying homage to their classic rock idols of the past while still sounding current. With influences including Aerosmith, Heart, and Van Halen, TRAUMAQUEEN combines catchy melodies and lyrics that bite. Mich Anger (she/they) is a Toronto-based theatre performer, singer and musician. Originally from Barrie, ON, they attended St. Lawrence College’s musical theatre performance program and then received a BA (Hons) in acting from IT Sligo in Ireland. Notable theatre credits include Dr. Fine/Dr. Madden in Next to Normal (Bowtie Productions), Dark Day Cabaret 18/20 (Icarus Theatre), Mel in The Book of Kit and Mel (Shakespeare in Action, workshop). Audiobook narration credits include Lockjaw by Matteo L. Cerilli as Beetle/Bird and Pacifique by Sarah L. Taggart. Mich is honoured to return to the Maclaren Art Centre for their anniversary celebration. After so many years pursuing a dream, it’s so special to be able to come back and perform where they started.
Emily Cornish (she/her) has spent most of her life in Barrie, with a few years spent up north in Sudbury while getting her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She has been performing in some form since childhood as she explored all the different aspects of art, music, and expression. Once she picked up her guitar, she was hooked. Inspired by the Indie scene, she brings a dreamy quality to acoustic covers of her favourite songs. She began attending art classes at the MacLaren as a young child and returned in high school to perform in the youth coffee houses. While she has taken a step back from performing in recent years, instead focusing on her visual artistic practice. In a full circle moment, she has returned to the MacLaren to join the education team to teach art to people off all ages. She is excited to honour a place which was been such an important part of her life.
