Celebrate the coming of Spring with regional artist Mariya Blyznyuk! Guided by Blyznyuk, adult participants will explore the Drapanka egg decorating technique. This popular Ukrainian technique is the application of a pattern to a painted egg surface by scratching (grattage) with a nail, awl or tool.

In Drapanka, the egg is first painted in a dark color, and then light patterns are scratched on a dark background. Learn about the significance of different ornamental patterns in the Ukrainian folk tradition and apply them to create your easter egg designs — to enjoy throughout the spring season. Register early as spots are limited!
