Description

Neda Mazhab Jafari

Neda Mazhab Jafari is a multi-talented artist. She is a practicing sculptor, painter and photographer who also plays classical Iranian instruments! She lives for her art!

Neda was born in Tehran, Iran and currently lives in Barrie, Ontario. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture, a Master’s degree and a Doctorate in Art Research from the University of Art, Iran, and has been a faculty member of the University of Arts. She studied Graphic Design in Canada and then decided to focus more specifically on Digital Design.

She loves bright and solid colours, symbols, and myths and is interested in learning about different cultures and their histories. Neda feels most inspired by her Iranian culture as well as many other ancient civilizations. She participated in several exhibitions featuring her sculpture, painting and photography in Iran. In Canada, she won fourth place for a poem that she wrote while participating in “Come Together Week” at Georgian College, was commissioned by the city of Barrie to create public art for the “Brightening Barriers” project with four painted panels on wood, and showed a sculptural piece titled “Mother Nature” at “Our Own Backyard” exhibition at the MacLaren Art Centre. Currently, she is working on the “Ice Hut Public Art Project” for the town of Innisfil.

Neda looks forward to continuing her art journey in the multicultural atmosphere of Canada!
