Art Crawl in Collaboration with The Campus Gallery

Date: March 21, 2024
Time: 11:00am – 1:30pm
Fee: Free! Registration Required
Locations: The Campus Gallery, Georgian College, and the MacLaren Art Centre

Take an extended lunch break and join the MacLaren Art Centre and The Campus Gallery for an art filled day!

Meet us at The Campus Gallery at Georgian College to tour Over and Over and Over Again an exhibition featuring works by Anong Migwans Beam and her late father, Carl Beam (both artists: M’Chigeeng First Nation). With Carl’s work from the Georgian College Collection being in conversation with Anong’s paintings and drawings, co-curator Virginia Eichhorn will lead visitors through a tour of the exhibition.

After the tour at The Campus Gallery, we will meet at the MacLaren Art Centre where you can pick up a snack at the Lazy Tulip Café and join us for an exclusive tour of Labours of Love, an exhibition of beaded garments and adornments that are carefully constructed, bead by bead and stitch by stitch, each a gesture of love that contains rich histories and cultural knowledge that have been shared with the artists across generations. The exhibition features the work of Barry Ace (M’Chigeeng First Nation – Anishinaabe – Odawa) Catherine Blackburn (English River First Nation – Dënesųłinë́), and Justine Woods (Georgian Bay Metis Community – Aabitaawizininiwag)

Participants are welcome to join us for the full Art Crawl or to drop in when they are available. See the full schedule below.
