On November 17, more than 350 people attended the MacLaren Art Centre’s 27th annual Off the Hook silent art auction, which raises essential support for Gallery programs. One-hundred and fifty-one artists generously donated over 190 works of art. Local businesses supported the event as sponsors, advertisers and by donating dozens of Great Finds, hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Thank you to all who contributed and attended: you made the evening a very successful one!

GENERAL INFORMATION
The MacLaren Art Centre is the major public art gallery in central Ontario serving the residents of Barrie, the County of Simcoe and the surrounding area. The Gallery has a permanent collection of over 27,400 works of art and presents a year-round programme of innovative exhibitions, art education activities and special events. This architectural landmark in downtown Barrie combines a renovated 1917 Carnegie library and a contemporary 2001 addition by Siamak Hariri of Hariri Pontarini Architects. The MacLaren is a central meeting place and cultural hub of activities for residents in the city, a tourist destination for visitors from across the province, and an economic driver and catalyst for downtown revitalization.
