Description
The MacLaren Art Centre is looking for Special Event Servers for our busy upcoming 2024 wedding season. Event Season generally runs from May- October, with the bulk of our bookings on Friday/ Saturday nights after 4 pm. We do not host events on long weekends. This job is ideal for someone who already has another part-time or full-time job, looking to generate extra income.

Rate of pay
$17.20 per hour, plus gratuity.

Duties:
• Provides friendly and courteous customer service
• Operates the POS system, and takes payment in cash, Debit, Visa, Mastercard and
Amex
• Clear and clean glassware
• Remove waste and recycling
• Restock the bar, and notify coordinator when supplies are running low
• Assists with set up and tear down of special events (chairs, tables, etc.)
• Meets all Health Inspection Criteria
• Learn to operate the chair lift system
• Holds a valid Smart Serve Certificate, and adheres to Alcohol and Gaming serving
regulation as well as MacLaren Art Centre house policies
• Attends to other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in the food service industry
• Experience in a fast-paced work setting an asset
• Smart Serve Certified
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with volunteers, suppliers,
and gallery staff
• Proven organizational skills and multi-tasking skills
• An energetic self-starter
• Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Great attention to detail
• A competent and approachable communicator
• Must thrive on working in a dynamic environment
• Must be able to lift 15kg
