Rotary Education Centre at the MacLaren

Admission free

Join regional artist Tamara Benoit as she discusses the intricacies of printmaking. Using serigraphs, lithographs, relief and intaglio prints as examples, Tamara will decode the complex processes that artists and printmakers use to create their works. While the language of printmaking might intimidate—terms range from aquatint to zincograph—this fun, informal talk will give you the tools to talk about prints and printmaking with confidence.

Tamara Benoit was raised in North Bay, Ontario and spent summers on her grandparents’ farm in Cookstown. She studied drawing and painting with Ernest Taylor who provided her with an opportunity to explore studio arts at the Art Gallery of Ontario. She is a graduate of the Fine Art program at Georgian College where she focused on drawing and printmaking. Tamara is currently the technician in the printmaking studio at Georgian College.
