Join MacLaren curators Emily McKibbon and Renée van der Avoird for a special preview of Toronto’s 2015 Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival. CONTACT is the largest photography event in the world, running from May 1 to 31 at over 175 venues across the GTA. Emily and Renée will highlight their top festival picks and share insights on some of this year’s featured artists.

Emily McKibbon holds a Master’s in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management from Ryerson University. From 2011 to 2013, she was the Howard and Carole Tanenbaum Curatorial Fellow at George Eastman House International Museum of Film and Photography. She has worked at a number of different institutions in North America and New Zealand, including the Ryerson Image Centre, the Getty Research Institute and the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy.

Renée van der Avoird holds a B.A. in French Language and Fine Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master’s in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto. Before joining the MacLaren in 2013, Renée worked in curatorial, collections management and gallery administration capacities at institutions including Susan Hobbs Gallery, the University of Toronto Art Centre, Montréal Museum of Fine Arts and Stephen Bulger Gallery, Toronto.
