The Story of Place Workshops
Rotary Education Centre, MacLaren Art Centre
Wednesdays, September 12, 19 and 26, 2018
5:30 to 7:00 pm
Admission free; Materials provided

The MacLaren Art Centre is excited to host three free workshops at the Gallery for children, youth and families. At these workshops, participants will create a series of unique artwork that explores their impressions of the region. Each workshop will focus on an engaging experience with a different art material and technique, while exploring themes tied to place such as memory, family histories, identity and experience. Participants will have the opportunity to submit their artwork for an online community exhibition, The Story of Place, as a featured part of Carnegie Days 2018.

Carnegie Days is an annual festival of art and language offering events for visitors of all ages. Carnegie Days coincide with Culture Days, which highlights free, cultural attractions in downtown Barrie. This year’s festival theme is The Story of Place: how we situate ourselves within a landscape using narrative and storytelling. Carnegie Days takes place from September 27 to 30, 2018. Visit maclarenart.com for more information.

Sign up in advance for one, two or all three workshops! No art experience is necessary. Space is limited so register early!

TO REGISTER CALL 705-721-9696 or stop by the MacLaren front desk in person.

We look forward to your participation and creativity!
