12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, The Carnegie Room
Admission free. No registration required
Join us for an engaging performance of singing, drumming, and traditional East African instrumentation by Uganda’s Suubi Fusion Troupe, who will proudly share their talent and culture. Marvel at their energy and enthusiasm in this exciting experience that includes a short film, performance, dance workshop and Q&A period.
The Suubi Fusion Troupe is a programme run out of the Cambridge Secondary School, a not-for-profit school just outside of the Uganda’s capital, Kampala. This school provides education for up to 400 students who might otherwise be without that opportunity. The Suubi Fusion Troupe started as an original idea of the school’s founder, Kevin Kalule. Suubi means “hope” in Luganda. Suubi Fusion Troupe tours with the mission of using performing arts to increase access to education in Uganda.
