March 23 @ 11:15 am
Experience the ART CRAWL on March 23, 2023. Registration is FREE!
March 23, 11:15am – 2:00pm
MacLaren Art Centre and Campus Gallery
Take an extended lunch break and join the MacLaren Art Centre and the Campus Gallery for an art-filled afternoon.
Explore the MacLaren Art Centre and get an exclusive tour of one of our current exhibitions, Mentor and Me, before enjoying your lunch during a talk by local artist Angela Aujla as she discusses how her personal history as a diasporic South Asian Canadian woman influences her artistic practice. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch or to pick up a snack at the Lazy Tulip Cafe.
Following the talk, join us as we carpool to Georgian College to explore Sean-William Dawson’s (SWD) 25-year career retrospective at The Campus Gallery: Simple Abundance. SWD will be at the gallery to lead guests through a tour of his exhibition, curated by Georgian College’s Museum and Gallery Studies students with support from special guest Exhibition Coordinator, Mary Reid. A former graduate from Georgian College’s Fine Art Department, SWD was mentored by Mentor and Me artist Ted Fullerton, and as an educator himself, SWD’s exhibition speaks to the importance of community, mentorship, and memory.
Participants are welcome to join us for the full Art Crawl or to drop in when they are available. See the full schedule below.
