Get Involved!

Some of our wonderful and dedicated MacLaren volunteers!

National Volunteer Week, April 23 to 29, seems like the perfect time to acknowledge our spectacular team of MacLaren volunteers. In 2016 alone we welcomed 72 new volunteers. The total number of volunteers reached 278 and these gracious volunteers contributed almost 4600 hours of work. This incredible team assists the Centre in many different areas from guiding tours to promoting our programs to organizing fundraisers. Without them our organization would not be the successful cultural force it is today.

The staff and patrons of the MacLaren Art Centre would like to thank each and every volunteer who has helped us along our journey. Your gift of giving is priceless and we appreciate you every day.

Join the MacLaren Volunteer Team!

The MacLaren is so grateful for the generosity of our 278 volunteers who are key to the Gallery's success. Volunteers are invaluable to the MacLaren. If you are interested in getting involved, learning about the visual arts or gaining administrative experience, join our team of volunteers. Many types of opportunities are available, from leading gallery tours to helping organize special events. For example, Greeters welcome visitors and share information about current exhibitions and events. Gallery Guides lead tours for visiting school and community groups of all ages and abilities, encouraging dialogue around our exhibitions and our rich building history. Our volunteer programmes are open to people with or without art experience. Orientation and training are provided. For more information, please contact Peter Bogle, Volunteer Coordinator, at 705-720-1044 ext. 277 or email

Support the MacLaren

The MacLaren would not be the organization it is without the overwhelming community support we receive from volunteers, community groups, benefactors, donors and partners. They are responsible for our success!

The MacLaren offers several levels of support for individuals and corporations, with special benefits and opportunities. You can choose to become a Friend of the MacLaren, a Patron or a Benefactor!

For more information on how you or your organization can become involved please call Sue-Ellen Boyes, Director of Development and Marketing, at 705-720-1044 ext. 236 or email
