Holiday Activities

Family Sunday Workshop, Winterfest, MacLaren Art Centre, Barrie, Ontario

The MacLaren Art Centre offers a wide variety of seasonal activities such as art classes for all ages, art camps during the winter, March break and summer, family workshops led by regional artists, and special programmes for community-wide festivals such as Winterfest, Celebrate Barrie, Kempenfest and Culture Days. Join us each September for Carnegie Days, an annual four-day festival of art and language that draws on the origins of our building as a 1917 Carnegie public library and celebrates the legacy of Scottish-born American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie Days includes exhibitions, public art projects, lectures, readings, video screenings, workshops and other public programmes at the Gallery and in the city of Barrie that explore language in contemporary culture. Events are presented by the MacLaren and by our many community partners.
