This exhibition presents highlights from the MacLaren’s Contemporary collection, drawing together works across media that explore the use abstraction in diverse and sometimes unexpected forms. It features the work of painters and photographers whose practice includes both abstract and figurative modes, highlights works that use abstraction within figurative compositions, and draws out relationships and continuities between representational and abstract work.
