Join us for an outstanding evening as we present the 2016 Legacy Award to Barry Peacock in recognition of his lifelong commitment to community-building, with special guest speaker Ian Brown, longtime Globe and Mail columnist and award-winning writer, radio host, and author. Proceeds from this fundraising event support MacLaren programmes for children and youth.

Ian Brown is an author and a feature writer for The Globe and Mail whose work has won a total of nine National Magazine and National Newspaper awards. He is the host of CBC Radio's Talking Books, as well as the anchor of TVO's two documentary series, Human Edge and The View from Here. His book The Boy in the Moon: A Father's Search for His Disabled Son, was a national bestseller, a New York Times and Globe and Mail Best Book and won several awards, including the Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction, the BC National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction and the Trillium Book Award. His most recent book, Sixty: The Beginning of the End, or the End of the Beginning? , is a wickedly honest and brutally funny account of his 61st year.
