This programme fosters the creativity of pre-school children. Each session will feature a hands-on activity using different materials and methods. Participants will experiment and create artworks by working in printmaking, sculpture, drawing and painting. Barrie artist Jenn Guerin brings her artistic experience and sense of wonder to the course. To register, visit here

Art Start has been introducing art-making to children for over 15 years, engaging their creativity and challenging their imaginations. Classes are led by Barrie artist Julie Robb, who creates activities inspired by current exhibitions. Each session includes drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media.

You'll explore different ways of creating art with instructor Jenn Guerin, who brings her artistic experience and sense of wonder to help foster creativity and enjoyment for her students.

Artist bio
Jenn Guerin is a practicing artist whose main area of study is printmaking. Guerin explores central themes of ritual, play, childhood and personal history. She graduated from Georgian College with a diploma in Fine Arts. She has completed a BFA through Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia. Guerin joined the VanGo team in 2008.

Cartoonist/illustrator Bob Kain, whose iconic illustrations for Chirp magazine have inspired generations of Canadian children, will lead participants in cartoon basics and techniques. Emphasis will be on the exploration of the imagination to produce inventive projects. Participants are encouraged to work on a variety of sizes and surfaces as well as individual and collaborative projects.
