The MacLaren Art Centre is excited to offer four weeks of Artrageous summer camps in partnership with the Barrie YMCA! Guided by regional artists Christyn Grampola, Sabrina Parrish and Julie Wilson, campers will spend their mornings creating art at the MacLaren and enjoy afternoons of sports and outdoor fun at the Barrie YMCA. Jump into an exciting week of art-making and get inspired by artwork in the MacLaren’s Permanent Collection! Join regional artist Julie Wilson and make art based on what you see, from the prints of Norval Morrisseau to the drawings of Marlene Hilton-Moore and the sculpture of Peter von Tiesenhausen. In their own projects, participants will explore a variety of styles, materials and techniques used to create these artworks.

Share Your Story: The Story of "I" for Carnegie Days
The MacLaren Art Centre is excited to host three free workshops at the Gallery for children, youth and families to enjoy! At these workshops, participants will create vibrant illustrations inspired by illuminated manuscripts, depicting letters, words and initials that have meaning to them. 
Families will have the opportunity to submit their artwork for an online community exhibition, The Story of “I” as a featured part of Carnegie Days.
