Janet Jones is a Toronto-based painter whose work investigates the spaces of cyber-cities in relation to women in the urban environment and the techno-sublime. Jonesís paintings have been exhibited across Canada, in New York, Los Angeles, England, Germany and France. She received her MFA from York University, Toronto, and her Ph.D. from New York University in the area of art theory and criticism. Janet Jones is an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual Arts, York University, Toronto, where she has been Director of the Graduate Program and Chair of the Department of Visual Arts.
